What is a massage?
A massage is a set of techniques that manipulates muscles and joints in the body. The are various modalities such as swedish, deep tissue, and prenatal that assist in manipulating muscles and joints. There are also tools such as hot stones, warm towels, and aromatherapy. Everyone is different and together we will customize the massage to fit YOU.
Why get a massage?
There are various reasons to get a massage. One reason is to improve overall health by relieving tension headaches, reducing muscle tension and arthritis pain, lowering blood pressure, managing chronic neck, lower back and fibromyalgia pain. Various people use massages to reduce anxiety, stress, increase range or motion, help improve sleeping habits and it simply feels good.
How can I prepare myself for a massage?
If time allows a nice warm shower before hand helps warm the muscle and helps you start to feel relaxed.
Light Stretching will help get your body moving and again getting the muscles warmed up.
Any questions or concerns would be great to discuss before being on the table.
Every ache and sore muscle is important to talk about in order to help shape your massage better for you.
Knowing any areas that should avoid, such as: open cuts, range of motion, ticklish feet, uncomfortable with glut work or pectoral work, etc.
Do I remove all my clothing?
It is completely understandable to feel uncomfortable about disrobing outside of the comforts of home. There is never any pressure to completely disrobe. We do ask that you disrobe to the level you are comfortable with and lay under both the sheet and the blanket to keep you warm and comfortable. Massages clothed is possible but limiting and we are more than willing to create a massage around your needs.
What happens during the massage?
For each of our different types of massages we will use an extra rich massage lotion infused with arnica & ivy extract, almond & Aloe vera oil, and it is paraben & cruelty free. It is a lotion that has been “Therapist’s Choice” for over 30 years and provides soft skin without residue. With our aromatherapy upgrade, essential oils will be added to the lotion and the diffuser for the entirety of the session. Unless of course, you have upgraded to our Full Spectrum CBD Massage Lotion which is obtained locally and contains approximately 31mg/ fl oz. At the phase where you are laying in the supine position, the massage therapist may wrap your feet/neck with warm towels. This is also the opportunity to rest the hydration mask on your face if upgraded.
How does payment work?
Each massage is at a set price group per time frame and we do not charge more for different techniques used (swedish, deep tissue, aromatherapy, ect.). We gladly accept credit or debit card (MasterCard, American Express, Discover, JCB, Union pay) through our Square Reader. We also accept Venmo and cash as well.
Any aftercare?
It is incredibly important to remember that this may not seem like a workout but we are manipulating your muscles and it is expected for your muscles to be sore. Increase your water intake for the next couple of days. It is also helpful to stretch and not allow stiffness. This is a normal part of the healing process, make sure to keep it moving and limber.
